Not Enough Data - But Keep an Eye on This

The number of EMS calls, specifically "EMS: NAUSEA/VOMITING" has shot up in Montgomery County, PA. Ursinus college reported Friday that they had 192 students reporting to the health center "experiencing the symptoms, including diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain." (Ref 6abc.com).

So, what about EMS emergency calls in Montgomery county, specifically, "EMS: NAUSEA/VOMITING". Shouldn't these calls be going up? Actually, they are; however these might not be students calling 911. (Please note - our data only consists of 911 calls placed in Montgomery County, PA. If someone goes directly to the hospital on their own, we won't catch it).

In fact, if you look at the location of these calls, you'll see that most of them are spread out. Below Ursinus college is in the center of the green circle.

Agreed. Nausea/Vomiting can occur all across the county. However, if you look at the most resent calls to 911, there have been a lot to just Collegeville, which is where Ursinus is located.
